Dr Nicoletta (Nikki) Frescos PhD, MPH, B.Appl.Sci (Podiatry) FWA
Dr Nicoletta Frescos is a senior podiatrist and clinician researcher based in Australia. She currently serves as Study Coordinator for randomized controlled trials in chronic leg ulcers at Austin Health and holds senior clinical and allied health research leadership roles within Northern Health a large tertiary health system. Dr Frescos is also an Adjunct Senior Lecturer at Queensland University of Technology and La Trobe University.
She has a strong commitment to education and global capacity building and is a volunteer educator supporting healthcare professionals in low and middle income Pacific Island countries, with a focus on wound management and diabetes related foot disease. Dr Frescos chairs the Australian Wound and Skin Alliance and is Vice President of the Asia Pacific Association of Diabetes Limb Prevention. She represents Australia across multiple wound care and diabetes foot prevention collaborations and serves on the editorial boards of three international wound care journals.
Her PhD research examined facilitators and barriers to the assessment and management of wound related pain in people with hard to heal lower limb wounds. Her academic interests include translation of research into practice, wound management, diabetes foot disease, and wound related pain.
