4:00 PM - 6:15 PM
HMP Education has designated unrestricted grants from MIMOSA Diagnostics; SANUWAVE Health, Inc.; Smith+Nephew; Solventum, Medical Surgical Business; and Urgo Medical North America for this session.
Pressure injuries remain a significant and largely preventable healthcare challenge, contributing to substantial patient morbidity, mortality, and healthcare costs. While evidence-based guidelines and innovations in prevention and management continue to evolve, ongoing education and hands-on training are essential to support the consistent implementation of best practices across diverse care settings. This interactive workshop will provide participants with the opportunity to explore evidence-based strategies for pressure injury prevention and management through guided demonstrations of emerging technologies and clinical approaches. Attendees will rotate through expert-led stations featuring prophylactic dressings, medical imaging for early pressure injury detection and assessment, advanced wound cleansing techniques, and more. Designed to translate current evidence into clinical practice, this immersive educational experience will equip clinicians with practical skills and innovative approaches to improve patient outcomes and reduce the burden of pressure injuries across the continuum of care.
Learning objectives:
1. Apply evidence-based strategies for pressure injury prevention and management across diverse care settings.
2. Evaluate emerging technologies and clinical approaches, including prophylactic dressings, medical imaging, NPWT, low-frequency non-contact ultrasound and advanced wound cleansing, to support pressure injury prevention, early detection, and treatment.
