Patience Karsten, DNP, ARNP, FNP-BC, FNP-C, CHWS, is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner specializing in Adult Family Practice, advanced wound healing, and hyperbaric medicine. She is the owner and director of Oasis Healogy Clinic, providing both mobile and office-based wound care services. Dr. Karsten also serves as an Assistant/Associate Professor of Family Medicine at Pacific Northwest University of Health Sciences.
Before beginning her private practice, Dr. Karsten worked as a Wound Care and Hyperbaric Provider at Astria Health, where she gained extensive experience in advanced wound management, hyperbaric oxygen therapy, and multidisciplinary patient care.
Dr. Karsten earned her Master of Science in Nursing with a concentration in Family Practice from Chamberlain University and later completed her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree with a concentration in Leadership at Capella University. She received her Certified Hyperbaric and Wound Specialist credential through the American Board of Wound Healing.
Driven by her passion and commitment to wound care, Dr. Karsten provides lectures and educational presentations at guest schools and conducts educational sessions for nursing students, healthcare professionals, Adult Family Homes, and Family Nurse Practitioner meetings and councils. She is dedicated to advancing evidence-based wound care practices and improving healthcare education within the community.
Dr. Karsten is also a Corporate Partner of the Undersea and Hyperbaric Medical Society. She travels throughout Washington State to provide care to patients in Adult Family Homes and nursing facilities while also remaining committed to serving vulnerable populations, including individuals experiencing homelessness in the Yakima community.
