Franco Kraiselburd

Asclepii

Franco Kraiselburd is a biomedical engineer, inventor, and entrepreneur dedicated to advancing and scaling regenerative medicine. He earned his B.S. in Biomedical Engineering from Case Western Reserve University in 2024. Recognized as a 2024 MIT Innovator Under 35 and awarded the MIT LATAM Pioneer of the Year 2024 award, Franco raised $1 million in non-dilutive grants before graduating college, gaining traction from prestigious organizations such as NSF, NIH, and other internationally recognized research organizations.

In 2022, at age 19, he founded Asclepii, a medical-device company developing next-generation medical dressings - Wound Matrixes and Nanosilver Hydrogels - for superior wound bed preparation. As CEO, he has raised more than $3 million of Venture-backed funding, assembled a global network of scientific leaders across seven countries, and secured core intellectual property. Asclepii’s technology has been by the MIT, Forbes, SXSW, and Crain’s Business Magazine.

Prior to Asclepii, Kraiselburd conducted translational research at Case Western’s Skeletal Research Center under the “Father of Mesenchymal Stem Cells” - who founded Osiris Therapeutics (acq. Smith + Nephew, 2019). He also conducted work at the University of São Paulo’s Cell and Molecular Therapy Center, where he developed a bioactive calcium-alginate hydrogel that reached pre-clinical trials at the age of 14. His work has contributed to major federal grants, including a $47.5 million ARPA-H award for the manufacturing of artificial joints, and has been presented at the Biomedical Engineering Society annual meeting.

This session will explore how artificial intelligence (AI) is transforming the landscape of wound care through enhanced diagnostics, predictive analytics, and personalized treatment planning. Faculty will discuss current applications, emerging technologies, and ethical considerations in integrating AI into clinical workflows. attendees will gain insight into how these innovations can improve efficiency, accuracy, and patient outcomes in wound management.

Dr. Windy Cole, DPM, CWSP, FACCWS, FFPM RCPS (Glasg)

Dr. Windy Cole is a double board-certified podiatric physician and internationally recognized wound care expert with more than 24 years of clinical experience in limb preservation and advanced wound management. She serves as Adjunct Professor and Director of Wound Care Research at Kent State University College of Podiatric Medicine and is Chief Research Officer for Capsicure Clinical Research Organization.
As the founder of Cole Collaborative Consulting, Dr. Cole partners with biotech and medical device companies to develop evidence generation strategies, strengthen market access pathways, and deliver high-quality scientific and medical communications.
A leader in the integration of emerging technologies into wound care, Dr. Cole has directed numerous clinical trials and contributes her expertise to advisory boards across the biotech and device sectors, providing insight on FDA strategy, clinical trial oversight, medical monitoring and protocol development with real world implementation.
A sought-after speaker at national and international symposia, she is dedicated to advancing patient outcomes through evidence-based practice, interdisciplinary collaboration, and innovation in the management of complex, hard-to-heal wounds.
