Dr. Jose Jaller is an Assistant Professor of Dermatology at the University of Miami Dr. Phillip Frost Department of Dermatology and Cutaneous Surgery. Prior to dermatology residency, he completed a two-year wound healing research fellowship and a two-year dermatopharmacology fellowship, which helped shape his focus on clinical research and therapeutic development in dermatology and wound healing. Dr. Jaller specializes in complex medical dermatology and the management of chronic and atypical wounds. He cares for patients at the University of Miami Wound Center, where he regularly manages difficult to heal ulcers and complex inflammatory wound conditions. His clinical and research work focuses on improving the diagnosis and treatment of challenging wounds and advancing clinical research in wound care. Dr. Jaller frequently lectures at national and international meetings on wound healing and complex dermatologic disease.

Pharmacology in Wound Care: Beyond the Common Wound: Diagnosis and Management of Skin Ulcers and Rare Diseases

In this engaging and case-driven session, attendees will explore a systematic, step-by-step approach to the diagnosis and management of atypical wounds. Through detailed case presentations featuring both rare and “not-so-rare” wound types, attendees will learn to recognize key clinical patterns, apply evidence-based diagnostic strategies, and develop targeted management plans. Emphasis will be placed on practical decision-making and integrating multidisciplinary insights to improve patient outcomes. By the end of the session, attendees will leave with a clear, reproducible framework that can be applied confidently to even the most challenging wound presentations.<br><br>

This session will award 0.50 pharmacotherapeutic contact hours.
