Dr. Valerie Rosen is an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Dell Medical School. She completed her psychiatry residency at Yale University, where she served as Chief Resident for the PTSD program at the National Center for PTSD at the West Haven VA Medical Center. Following residency, she spent a decade on the faculty at Yale University Health Services, specializing in college mental health and the treatment of civilians who have experienced trauma.
Dr. Rosen is a regional trainer in Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) and has trained and supervised clinicians in CPT for more than 20 years. She has presented extensively at international, national, and regional conferences on PTSD and other mental health topics.
She is the founder and Medical Director of Dell Medical School’s Trauma Research and Recovery Center. Her professional interests include teaching, mentorship, clinical supervision, trauma-focused clinical research, and expanding access to evidence-based psychiatric care for police officers, first responders, veterans, and other trauma-exposed populations.
