Alberto Carrara

Born in 1980, Rev. Prof. Alberto Carrara is a Catholic priest and an Academician and Corresponding Member of the Pontifical Academy for Life (since 2017). With a scientific background as a Chemical-Biological Laboratory Technician (1999), he holds a PhD in Medical Biotechnology (University of Padua, 2007), a second PhD in Philosophy with specialization in Neuroethics and Philosophy of Mind (2021), and a Bacchelor degree in Theology (2013). He serves as Dean of the Faculty of Philosophy at the Pontifical Athenaeum Regina Apostolorum in Rome, where he is also Full Professor of Philosophical Anthropology and Neuroethics, Coordinator of the interdisciplinary Research Group in Neurobioethics (GdN), and Fellow of the UNESCO Chair in Bioethics and Human Rights. Prof. Carrara is a recognized expert by the International Neuroethics Society (INS), President of the International Institute of Neurobioethics (IINBE). He is a founding member of ICONN (International College of Neuroethics and Neuroscience) and collaborates internationally on neuroethics, roboethics, algorethics, and AI in education.
