Treatment-Resistant Bipolar Depression: Sequencing, Switching & Advanced Strategies

Many patients with bipolar depression struggle despite guideline-supported treatments. This session explores practical algorithms for treatment-resistant bipolar depression (TRBD), including when to switch, when to augment, and how to combine agents. Faculty will review evidence for emerging treatments (e.g., lumateperone, cariprazine, vortioxetine, ketamine), off-label strategies, and complex case examples. Attendees will gain a step-by-step approach to rescuing stalled treatment plans and reducing functional impairment.
