Dr. Aditya Sharma, M.B.B.S., F.S.V.M., is a highly accomplished medical professional specializing in vascular medicine. He currently holds the Tenured Associate Professor of Medicine (Cardiovascular Medicine) position at the University Of Virginia School Of Medicine. Dr. Sharma is also the Director of the Vascular Medicine Program, the Program Director for the Vascular Medicine Fellowship, and the Director of the Multidisciplinary Pulmonary Embolism Response Team at the University of Virginia. In addition, he serves as a Secretary for the American Society for Vascular Medicine and an Associate Editor for the Vascular Medicine journal.
Dr. Sharma's academic medicine career includes developing multiple evidence-based / consensus statements with vascular societies. He has published over 100 manuscripts and written multiple book chapters in vascular medicine. He is a reviewer for many relevant cardiovascular journals and has been invited to speak at numerous cardiovascular and vascular national and international meetings. He has been invited as faculty at the American College of Surgery, American Society for Vascular Surgery, American Heart Association, American College of Cardiology, and the American Society for Interventional Radiology, to name a few.
Dr. Sharma's contributions to the medical field have been recognized with numerous honors and awards, including being a Keynote Speaker at the European Society for Vascular Medicine Annual Scientific Sessions and Secretary of the Society for Vascular Medicine. He has also been acknowledged for his excellence in patient care and education.
