The Residents & Fellows Experience

ISET welcomes current fellows in training and residents for the unique opportunity to participate in the Residents & Fellows Activity Scholarship, which provides tuition assistance for the 2024 International Symposium on Endovascular Therapy (ISET).

Scholarship will include:

  • Complimentary tuition* for all days of the ISET 2024 program place Monday, January 22 at 8:00am through Thursday, January 25 at 12:00pm at the Loews Miami Beach Hotel in Miami Beach, Florida
  • Travel stipend of $800 to be used toward travel expenses incurred to attend ISET. This stipend will be distributed 2 weeks after the meeting pending completion of all required tasks.

Eligibility for Scholarship

  • Applicants must be enrolled in an accredited vascular surgery, cardiology/interventional cardiology, or interventional radiology residency or fellowship program at the time of the meeting (January 2024).
  • Applicants must complete the application, including agreement to the requirements and the following document uploads:
    • ​​Submit a signed letter on letterhead from your program director confirming your status as a current resident or fellow in January 2024.
    • Submit a completed W9 form (US applicants) or a completed wire transfer form (International applicants)

Terms of Acceptance

  • Attend sessions in full

Acceptance of this scholarship requires the awardee to attend all sessions of the conference, in full, including additional sessions designated specifically for residents and fellows.  The conference begins on Sunday, January 21 at 6 PM and ends Thursday, January 25 at 12 PM.  Please plan your schedule accordingly. 

  • Session Sign-in

Designated sessions will require sign-in in order to receive your scholarship stipend. The list of sessions requiring sign-in will be posted on this page on our website as soon as it is available. Please check back often for updates. Failure to attend required sessions in full at the conference will cause your scholarship payment to be at risk of forfeit.

  • Registration

Scholarship recipients are required to register to attend ISET using the steps and information provided in the acceptance email within two weeks of receiving the acceptance email. Failure to register to attend the meeting within this timeline will cause your scholarship to be forfeited.

  • Payment Information

Scholarship recipients are required to submit a completed W9 form and the forms required for direct deposit (US applicants) or a completed wire transfer form (international applicants) to Elizabeth Ketter at eketter@hmpglobal.com by Wednesday, November 29, 2023.

  • Travel Information

Scholarship recipients are also required to submit a copy of a final travel itinerary including flight information to Elizabeth Ketter at eketter@hmpglobal.com by Monday, December 11, 2023 or the scholarship will be at risk of forfeit.

  • Post Conference Survey

Scholarship recipients are required to complete a post conference survey that will be sent via email at the conclusion of the conference. This survey needs to be completed by Thursday, February 8, 2024 (within 2 weeks of the conference). Failure to complete this survey will cause your scholarship payment to be at risk of forfeit.

Important Dates

The application portal is now closed. Please see below for approximate notification timelines.

  • September 22 – November 22: Applicants will be notified via email of acceptance on a rolling basis. Waitlisted applicants will be notified as well.
  • Within 2 weeks of Email Acceptance: Registration Deadline–If you have been accepted for a scholarship and have not registered for the conference within two weeks of receiving your acceptance email, your scholarship will be forfeited and offered to someone on the waitlist.
  • November 29: Payment Information Deadline - submit your completed W9 form and direct deposit information (US applicants) or your completed wire transfer form (International applicants) by this date.
  • December 11: Registration Cancellation Deadline–Cancellation requests must be received no later than December 11, 2023. Please email your cancellation request to Elizabeth Ketter at eketter@hmpglobal.com
  • December 11: Travel Information Deadline – submit your travel itinerary to Elizabeth Ketter at eketter@hmpglobal.com by this date.
  • January 21 – 25, 2024: Attend ISET in Miami Beach, Florida. Attend sessions in full and sign-in to designated sessions at the conference.
  • February 8, 2024: Deadline to complete the post conference survey

Cancellations

Scholarships are limited. If you are unable to attend, please notify me immediately so we can extend your complimentary registration to another Resident or Fellow on the waiting list. Please email Elizabeth Ketter at eketter@hmpglobal.com. Cancellations are requested by Monday, December 11, 2023.

No Shows

Failure to send cancellation request or attend ISET in full will result in ineligibility for future scholarships opportunities at HMP Global conferences, which include but are not limited to the International Symposium on Endovascular Therapy (ISET), Clinical Symposium on Interventional Oncology (CIO), Western Atrial Fibrillation Symposium (Western AFIB), and the Amputation Prevention Symposium (AMP).

Support

The travel stipend for residents and fellows may be subsidized by educational grants from Industry. The following companies have provided an educational grant in support of this residents and fellows scholarship: Gore, Haemonetics, Inari Medical, Medtronic, and Penumbra, Inc.
