John Pellerito

Dr. John S. Pellerito is Vice Chairman of the Department of Radiology, the Program Director for the Radiology Residency Program and Director of the Peripheral Vascular Laboratory at Northwell Health and Director of the Body Imaging Fellowship at North Shore University Hospital. He is Professor of Radiology and Science Education at the Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell and is co-director of the SONICS ultrasound program for medical students at the University. Dr. Pellerito graduated from New York University before receiving his M.D. from Albany Medical College. He served as faculty at Yale-New Haven Hospital before his current positions at Northwell Health. He is the co-editor of Introduction to Vascular Ultrasonography, in its 7th edition. He is author of multiple original articles and book chapters, and his current research interests include developing new imaging strategies for OB/GYN and cardiovascular diseases including 3D imaging and ultrasound contrast agents. Dr. Pellerito is in great demand as a speaker both nationally and internationally and currently holds multiple editorial appointments including Radiology, RadioGraphics and Journal of Ultrasound in Medicine. He was a board examiner for the American Board of Radiology. He serves on the Executive Committee of the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine (AIUM) and is currently on the Board of Directors for the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission for vascular testing (IAC). He currently serves on multiple committees, including the American College of Radiology, American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine, Society of Ultrasound in Medical Education and the Society of Radiologists in Ultrasound.
