Dr. Bulent Arslan is Professor and Chair of the Department of Interventional Radiology at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago. He earned his medical degree from Marmara University in Istanbul, Turkey, and completed his radiology residency and vascular and interventional radiology fellowship at the University of Rochester Medical Center in New York.
Before joining Rush in 2012, Dr. Arslan held faculty positions at the University of South Florida, University of Virginia, and University of Arizona. His clinical expertise includes aortic and peripheral vascular interventions, complex portal and iliocaval reconstructions, and endovascular tibio-pedal recanalization for critical limb ischemia.
Dr. Arslan has led the growth of the Rush IR program into one of the most comprehensive in the nation, now recognized as the third independent Department of Interventional Radiology in the United States. An active researcher and educator, he has authored over 60 peer-reviewed publications and lectures extensively worldwide. He is a Fellow of SIR and a member of AHA, RSNA, CIRSE, and AMA.
