David L. Dawson, MD, RVT, RPVI is a vascular surgeon at Baylor Scott & White Health in Temple, TX. He is a clinical professor at Texas A&M University. His clinical practice at includes all aspects of endovascular and open vascular surgery. He also serves as Surgical Quality Officer, leading quality improvement and patient safety initiatives across the medical center's surgical programs.

Dr. Dawson is a graduate of the University of Southern California School of Medicine. After surgery residency at the University of Washington, Dr. Dawson completed his vascular surgery fellowship under D. Eugene Strandness, Jr., MD.

The non-invasive vascular laboratory has been an area of particular interest for Dr. Dawson. He is Editor-in-Chief of the Journal for Vascular Ultrasound. He has authored numerous journal articles and book chapters on vascular laboratory topics and was co-editor of the latest edition of Strandness’s Duplex Scanning in Vascular Disorders. He has served in leadership roles for the Alliance for Physician Accreditation & Advancement (APCA), the Society for Vascular Ultrasound (SVU) , Intersocietal Accreditation Commission-Vascular Testing (IAC-VT), Joint Review Committee for Education in Diagnostic Medical Sonography (JRC-DMS), and other organizations.
