Biography of Dr. Rutger J. Lely
Dr. Lely is one of ten interventional radiologists at Amsterdam University Medical Centers located in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. Dr. Lely focuses on vascular interventional radiology and his main interests are aortic repair, peripheral arterial/venous diseases and diagnosis and treatment of acute pulmonary embolism as well as chronic thrombo-embolic pulmonary hypertension. Dr. Lely is an expert in complex aortic repair, endoleak repair and balloon pulmonary angioplasty (BPA). In collaboration with specialists from other disciplines he set up the complex aortic and BPA program at his institution. He is involved in research in these disciplines. He graduated from medicine school in 2001 at the University of Groningen and completed his radiology residency in 2008 at Nieuwegein. In 2009 he finished his fellowship interventional radiology at the VU University Medical Center.
