Sukgu Han

Dr. Sukgu Han is Professor of Clinical Surgery and Neurological Surgery at Keck Medicine of University of Southern California, where he serves as Chief of the Division of Vascular Surgery and Endovascular Therapy and Co-director of the USC George and Meryl Young Aortic Center and Neuro Revascularization Center.

He graduated magna cum laude from the University of California, Irvine and earned his M.D. at UC Irvine School of Medicine, where he was elected to Alpha Omega Alpha. He completed general surgery residency at USC, and earned a master’s degree in biomedical engineering from USC’s Viterbi School of Engineering. He then trained in vascular surgery at UCSF and pursued additional subspecialty training in complex aortic repair at the Mayo Clinic.

Since joining the USC faculty in 2014, Dr. Han has been instrumental in building one of the nation’s most robust programs for complex aortic care, with expertise in emergencies and advanced endovascular solutions. He serves as principal investigator on multiple FDA-regulated trials of branched and fenestrated stent grafts and has helped establish USC as a national referral center. In addition to holding U.S. patents, he has led several innovative multidisciplinary collaborative efforts at USC, focusing on complex open and endovascular aortic repairs, as well as novel preventative techniques for spinal cord ischemia.
