Dr. Sukgu M. Han is a vascular and endovascular surgeon at Keck Medicine of USC. He serves as Chief of the Division of Vascular Surgery and Endovascular Therapy and as Co-Director of the USC Comprehensive Aortic Center. He holds the academic appointment of Professor of Clinical Surgery and Neurological Surgery.
Dr. Han completed his undergraduate education at the University of California, Irvine, graduating magna cum laude in 2000. He earned his medical degree from the University of California, Irvine School of Medicine, where he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society as a third-year student. He completed general surgery residency training at the University of Southern California, where he was recognized by the faculty as Outstanding Chief Resident in 2012. During residency, he also obtained a Master’s degree in Biomedical Engineering from the USC Viterbi School of Engineering. He subsequently completed vascular surgery fellowship training at the University of California, San Francisco, followed by additional specialized training in complex aortic repair at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota.
Since joining the USC faculty in 2014, Dr. Han has contributed to the growth of the USC Comprehensive Aortic Center, with a focus on the care of patients with aortic emergencies and complex aortic disease. He serves as a principal investigator in multiple clinical trials evaluating advanced fenestrated and branched endovascular aortic technologies and is an invited speaker at national and international scientific meetings.
