NEMSAC: A Roundtable Discussion

9:15 AM - 10:15 AM
In August 2025, all 25 members of the National EMS Advisory Council (NEMSAC) were abruptly terminated via a letter from the Office of EMS, with no clear public explanation. This sudden dissolution suspends a federally chartered advisory body that has long served as the only statutorily authorized conduit between the EMS community and federal policymakers. The disruption leaves numerous in-progress advisories, expert working groups, and collaborative initiatives in limbo, threatening delayed guidance on workforce, data, patient care, and system modernization. In this roundtable, leading EMS stakeholders will dissect the termination’s possible motivations, assess national operational and policy fallout, and explore pathways for restoring an effective federal advisory role for EMS.
