Daniel R. Gerard, MS, RN, NRP is the immediate past president of the International Association of EMS Chiefs and one of the nation’s leading voices in EMS system design and operations. With more than 40 years in the field, including 20 years as a Newark, NJ paramedic, Dan has shaped how communities deliver emergency care, from the streets of the U.S. to Hong Kong and the Bahamas. Today, he serves as EMS Coordinator for a Bay Area Fire Department, overseeing innovative community paramedic and mobile crisis response programs. A trusted advisor to local, state, and federal agencies, his insights are featured in EMSWorld. A Harvard Kennedy School fellow and doctoral candidate in organizational leadership, Dan blends field-tested experience with forward-thinking leadership that challenges and inspires every audience he meets.
