Thursday, September 17, 2026
3:45 PM - 4:45 PM
Sleep disturbance is a central but often undertreated feature of PTSD despite the fact that insomnia and nightmares are part of the diagnostic criteria. This session will examine how trauma-related hyperarousal and reexperiencing contribute to persistent insomnia, nightmares, and other sleep disorders. Faculty will present an integrated, evidence-informed framework for assessment and treatment, including both pharmacologic and psychotherapeutic options.
Session developed in partnership with the Sleep Research Society Foundation (SRSF).
