Newly Diagnosed AML: Are We Ready for All-oral Treatment Strategies?

All-oral treatment is reshaping frontline care for older or intensive chemotherapy–ineligible patients with newly diagnosed acute myeloid leukemia. In this session, Dr. Gail Roboz will examine results from ASCERTAIN-V, which established oral decitabine/cedazuridine plus venetoclax as an effective frontline option, with meaningful remission and survival outcomes. The discussion will address patient selection, treatment adherence, drug interactions, early bone marrow assessment, and management of myelosuppression and infectious complications. Emerging all-oral precision triplets incorporating menin inhibitors will also be explored. Attendees will gain a practical perspective on which patients are ready for all-oral therapy and the evidence still needed to expand its use.
