Lisa Harding, MD is a board-certified psychiatrist and internationally recognized expert in intervention psychiatry, specializing in the treatment of depression, particularly treatment-resistant depression (TRD). She currently serves as an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at the Yale School of Medicine and is the Medical Director of the Mood Institute, an outpatient psychiatric practice offering advanced, evidence-based treatments for mood disorders.
Dr. Harding completed her medical training at the Yale School of Medicine, where she served as Chief Resident of Intervention Psychiatric Services at Yale Psychiatric Hospital. She has performed over 6,000 procedures, including IV ketamine, esketamine (Spravato®), electroconvulsive therapy (ECT), and repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS). Her work focuses on translating cutting-edge treatments into real-world care, with an emphasis on access and equity.
An award-winning educator, Dr. Harding received the prestigious Irma Bland Award for Excellence in Teaching Residents from the American Psychiatric Association. She is also a global speaker, presenting on interventional psychiatry across the U.S., Latin America, and Asia. She serves as a principal investigator in clinical trials focused on novel therapeutics, including psychedelic-assisted therapies.
Beyond her academic and clinical roles, Dr. Harding is a certified yoga teacher and wellness advocate.
