60 min
Thursday, October 01, 2026
8:00 AM - 9:00 AM
This class will be a highly interactive class, discussing real obstetrics case studies from the field calls received in the greater metropolitan D.C. region by Loudoun County Fire and Rescue, following expectant mothers' stories from 9-1-1 call to discharge home. We will be looking closely at common obstetric emergencies—including postpartum hemorrhage, preeclampsia/eclampsia, shoulder dystocia, and preterm labor and discussing how to differentiate them from normal pregnancy physiology. The class will aim to guide EMS providers in how to perform correct assessments, prioritize OB patients, and how to stabilize OB patients during case-based scenarios. This class will be delivered by co-presenters, representing LCFR EMS Operations, Inova Hospitals Obstetrics clinical setting and the educational collaboration they share.
