Karen Bauer

Dr. Karen Bauer is a Wound Certified and Vascular Surgery Nurse Practitioner. She graduated with a B.A. in Sociology from the University of Toledo, an M.S. from The Ohio State University and a Doctorate of Nursing Practice from The University of Toledo. She has been practicing as a wound practitioner for over 19 years and in vascular surgery for over 8 years. She currently practices at George Washington university Hospital. Karen has extensive leadership experience, most recently at Emory University in the Division of Vascular Surgery as the Limb Preservation Coordinator. She was previously the Director of Wound and Vascular Services and Lead APP at the University of Toledo Medical Center in the Division of Vascular Surgery and concurrently as the Program Director at a rural wound center in Wauseon, Ohio, where she practiced for over 13 years.

She is the immediate past-President of the Society for Vascular Nursing and a long-time Board Member and Fellow of the AAWC. She is a Board Member of the Save a Leg Save a Life Foundation and the Alliance of Wound Care Stakeholders. Karen participates on the American Heart Association’s Peripheral Artery Disease National Action Plan Steering Committee and is an editorial reviewer for many scientific journals. She serves on numerous national committees and lectures regionally, nationally, and internationally. She is also a published writer.

Cathy is an Advanced Practice WOC nurse who delivers care across the continuum, including acute care, long-term care, home health, and outpatient settings. As a clinician with Connecticut Clinical Nursing Associates, she also consults with organizations to improve wound outcomes, conducts clinical research, and lectures both nationally and internationally. She has published numerous articles, authored several book chapters and is the Co-Editor of the texts Wound, Ostomy, Continence Secrets and the Wound Care Certification Study Guide, Third Edition. Cathy is a former Nurse Board Member of the Association for the Advancement of Wound Care (AAWC) and currently serves as a Board Member of the Post-Acute Wound and Skin Care Integrity Council (PAWSIC). She is also a member of the AAWC Educational Planning Committee and serves as Chair of the Coalition for At-Risk Skin (CARS). In addition, she holds an appointment as Adjunct Clinical Professor at the Yale School of Nursing. Cathy is the recipient of the John A. Boswick Award.

Dot has been practicing in the specialty of wound and ostomy care for over 4 decades. She has practiced in acute care, home care and long-term care, spent 7 years in industry, and has practiced in outpatient care since 2001. She has been Board Certified by the Wound, Ostomy and Continence Nurses Certification Board since 1985 and The American Board of Wound Management since 2004. She has authored and co-authored numerous papers and consensus documents, and 14 book chapters. She is the Co-Chair of the Symposium on Advanced Wound Care, was part of the founding faculty for the Wound Certification Prep Course, is a committe member of the International Wound Infection Institute, and works as a Consultant and Educator and lives in Holland, Michigan. She works part time at the Wound Healing and Hyperbaric Medicine Clinic at Holland Hospital.

Tabitha Beck is a dedicated Wound Care Nurse Practitioner, accomplished business owner, proud veteran, and loving wife and mother. With a career built on compassion, precision, and innovation, she has devoted herself to improving patient outcomes while simultaneously shaping the healthcare industry through her entrepreneurial endeavors.

After serving honorably in the military, Tabitha transitioned her commitment to service into healthcare, where she found her passion in wound care. Recognizing the profound impact of specialized nursing, she has focused her practice on advanced wound management, helping patients recover faster, prevent complications, and regain quality of life. Her clinical expertise is complemented by a deep understanding of patient education and advocacy, allowing her to connect meaningfully with those she cares for.

Dylan is a Certified Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Nurse (CWOCN) at UAB Medicine, where he serves as the quality lead for the hospital’s wound, ostomy, and continence team. He earned his Master of Science in Nursing concentrating in Nursing Education from the University of North Alabama in 2024. Additionally, he serves as an adjunct clinical instructor at Wallace State Community College.

Dylan’s clinical interests include pressure injury prevention, diabetic foot ulcers, and complex abdominal wounds. He is actively involved in professional organizations and serves as Vice President of the Central Alabama Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Nurses Association. Dylan is a member of the Wound, Ostomy and Continence Nurses Society (WOCN), the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses (AACN), and Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing.

Kelly McFee, DNP is a Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner, Certified Wound Specialist and Advanced Practice Certified Wound Care Nurse who is practicing wound care and hyperbaric medicine in northwest Missouri. She received a BSN from Missouri Western State University, MSN from the University of Missouri – Kansas City, MHA from Colorado State University Global, and DNP from the University of South Alabama.
Kelly is a member of the Board of Directors for the Association for the Advancement of Wound Care, a member of the board of the Midwest Chapter of the WOCN, and board member of the American College of Clinical Wound Specialists where she is a past chairman of the board. Kelly is also a member of the PDSI task force, a joint endeavor with the NPIAP and EPUAP and is on the Editorial Advisory Board for WoundSource.

Jonathan Johnson, MD, MBA, CWSP, FAPWCA is a renowned healthcare leader
and innovator, serving as the founder and surgical director of Comprehensive Wound
Care Services (CWS) in Washington, DC. Affectionately known as "Dr. Wounds," he is dual
board-certified by the American Board of Wound Management and the American
Academy of Aesthetic Medicine and holds the esteemed designation of Fellow of the
American Professional Wound Care Association (FAPWCA).

Dr. Johnson’s distinguished medical career began with specialized training in
general surgery at Union Memorial Hospital and Howard University, followed by a
prestigious fellowship as the Sylvester J. Carter Hand and Plastic Surgery Fellow at
Lincoln Medical and Mental Health Center, affiliated with Cornell University. He also
serves as the Director of Surgical Services & Wound Care at Bridgepoint Hospital in
Washington, DC, and is a graduate faculty professor at Towson University College of
Health Professions.

Dr. Johnson’s academic and professional pursuits extend beyond medicine. He
earned an MBA in Healthcare Finance from the Carey Business School at Johns
Hopkins University and completed specialized certifications in Digital/Virtual Health at
Harvard Medical School. Further, he holds dual certificates in Private Equity and Hedge
Fund & Buy-Side Investing from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
As a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives, Dr. Johnson actively
contributes to the advancement of healthcare knowledge through research, scholarly
publications, and national conference presentations.

Dr. Stephanie Woelfel PT, DPT, CWS is an Associate Professor of Clinical Physical Therapy and Surgery at the University of Southern California (USC). She is the Director of Clinical Physical Therapy for Hospital Outpatient at Keck Medical Center of USC.
Her wound care career has spanned over 25 years in both short and long-term acute care, skilled nursing facilities, home care and consulting. Stephanie is active in the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) and is the current President of the APTA's Academy of Clinical Electrophysiology & Wound Management. She is also on the Board of Directors for the National Pressure Injury Advisory Panel (NPIAP) and the Post-Acute Wound & Skin Integrity Council (PAWSIC).
