Molly Bobek, LCSW is a clinician, trainer, and researcher specializing in family-based approaches to adolescent and young adult substance use. She has extensive experience integrating evidence-based practices—including family therapy, cognitive behavioral strategies, and harm reduction principles—into real-world service settings. Drawing on her work in both clinical and research environments, Molly has trained hundreds of providers nationally in relational approaches that address the complex interplay of substance use, mental health, and family dynamics.
At the Ackerman Institute for the Family, Molly has played a key role in the development and dissemination of the Ackerman Relational Approach a framework that blends systemic thinking, collaborative family engagement, and skills-based interventions. She has authored and co-authored training curricula, therapy scripts, and implementation guides, and has led workshops that emphasize experiential learning through case-based discussion, video modeling, and skill rehearsal. Molly’s expertise lies in helping practitioners build self awareness and competence in working with families, reducing stigma, and strengthening youth-caregiver relationships as a pathway to healing.
