Patrick opened Foundation House in 2002 to pay forward his experience in recovery for young men battling alcoholism, chemical dependency, and behavioral and mental health challenges. With more than 30 years of joyful and continued sobriety, Patrick has helped countless men locally, nationally, and internationally live free from addiction and taught them to embrace a clean and sober way of life.
At Foundation House, Patrick has created an environment that teaches residents how to turn obstacles into advantages, how to sit with adversity, suffering, joy, and success without letting such experiences overwhelm a balanced day, and how to re-socialize with an extraordinary group of built-in peers that are currently paving the way for each new resident upon entry into “The Foxhole.” Patrick’s primary gift is connecting with residents and their families to help them adopt healthy lives and relationships.
Patrick holds a bachelor’s degree in finance from Fordham University’s College of Business Administration in New York City. He has trained under licensed alcohol and chemical dependency professionals since 2001, specializing in motivational interviewing, trauma, attachment, PTSD, cognitive behavioral therapy, and life skills mentorship.
Patrick lives in Cape Elizabeth, Maine, with his daughter Lula and son Bodhi. He enjoys coaching his son’s various baseball teams, sitting in the passenger seat while his daughter drives, scuba diving, skiing, live concerts, the practices of Buddhism, travel, and everything about Portland, Maine, the Boston Red Sox, and the New England Patriots.
