Ginna Baik (pronounced GEENA BECK)
Ginna Baik has over 15 years of experience creating business and technology practices focused on the aging and longevity economy. Her life mission is to provide scalable and transformative technology and services to underserved populations. Before her work in senior care, Ginna spent several years working on Title I projects with Sylvan Learning in Chicago Public Schools.
As she transitioned from serving the nation’s youth to working with older adults, Ginna played a key role in building and operationalizing a social platform startup, which was later acquired by Omega REIT (Connected Living). She also led innovation efforts and created a national resident technology program with Brookdale Senior Living, the largest US senior care provider. Additionally, she founded the senior care business practice at CDW, the largest US enterprise technology solutions provider. In her final role prior to joining Yahoo, Ginna led Amazon’s Alexa Smart Properties business, focusing on senior living and pioneering voice technology for older adults.
Currently, Ginna Baik is the Director of Age Tech at AOL (part of Yahoo), where she leads the age-tech strategy and direction for AOL’s business, supporting its 37 million users over the age of 55.
Some of Ginna’s notable accomplishments in age-tech include the deploying the first internet cafes for older adults in affordable housing at Atlanta Housing Authority properties and building Amazon Alexa’s highest revenue-generating voice-first enterprise business within the Senior Living Business Unit. Ginna advises several aging tech startups, judges startup competitions, and delivers keynote addresses at national conferences, including Home Care Association of America.
Ginna is a Director on the board at Leading Age California, a Director on the board of Eskaton (non-profit senior living provider), a Founding Advisor for Thrive Innovation Center, and a board trustee at the John A Hartford Foundation. Ginna served on the executive board member at America’s Society on Aging and chaired the OATS board.
Ginna lives in sunny San Diego with her husband, two young adult children and her dog Lily and she is a caregiver to her two older adult parents who live with her every summer in her multi-generational home. Ginna received her BA from University and Michigan and received her teaching credentials from Michigan State University.
