T. J. Bishop, BS, NRP is the Assistant Chief of San Juan Island EMS in Friday Harbor, WA. He is the Chief Paramedic for a public ambulance service serving 9 islands. He coordinates the continuous quality improvement program. He is the program director for initial EMT, training officer for recertification, including managing AHA, ARC and NAEMT Training Centers. He is a Nationally Certified EMS Educator and WA Senior EMS Instructor. He holds faculty appointments from the AHA, ARC, NAEMT, NEMSMA, Handtevy, and the University of WA / Harborview Medical Center Medic One Paramedic Training Program. He is the safety officer responsible for health and wellness, driving, and operations. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in EMS Administration from Eastern Oregon University.
