Children With Special Healthcare Needs

Description: This presentation on children with special healthcare needs will be a live case study with two patients that are the speaker’s children, along with his wife. We will emphasize the importance of family-centered prehospital care. We will navigate through two case studies of pediatrics with a brain and cardiac congenital condition. We will have an interactive discussion on the EMS transport challenges with pediatric patients with special needs. Lastly, students will learn how to identify, communicate, and treat patients with Autistic Spectrum Disorder.
