This Master Class presents a comprehensive overview of current challenges in diagnosing and differentiating bipolar disorder (BD) from other mental health conditions and evaluates the accurate characterization of its features. This session will delve into the burden of cardiometabolic symptoms and adverse effects associated with conventional BD treatments, highlighting their impact on patient outcomes. Attendees will assess the safety and efficacy of newer and novel agents for BD management that address important treatment needs and discuss their potential to mitigate adverse effects. By understanding current advances in the BD treatment landscape and implementing patient-centered strategies, clinicians can improve treatment outcomes and enhance patient quality of life amidst the complexities of BD management.
