Intended Learners

This activity is intended for nurse practitioners, psychiatric nurses, and other healthcare professionals who seek to improve the care of patients with mental health disorders.

Learning Objectives

  • Summarize the foundational psychopharmacology of medication classes utilized in the management of psychiatric disorders, including antidepressants, antipsychotics, mood stabilizers, and stimulants
  • Employ strategies to improve patient outcomes in the management of psychiatric disorders such as ADHD, anxiety, bipolar, depression, and schizophrenia
  • Implement practical strategies to develop treatment plans, optimize care, and prevent relapse
  • Utilize new skills and understanding of clinical research and tools to improve patient outcomes in the acute and long-term management of mental illness

American Academy of Nurse Practitioners National Certification Program accepts AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ from organizations accredited by the ACCME. 

ANCC Contact Hours
This continuing nursing education live activity awards contact hours.

This activity will also award pharmacotherapeutic contact hours. However, the final credits designated will not be announced until all content is reviewed and approved.

CBRN Contact Hours
Provider approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing, Provider #13255, for 18.00 contact hours.

Requirements for Credit

To be eligible for documentation of credit for each session attended, learners must participate in the activity and complete the session(s) and overall conference evaluations, and post-test(s), if applicable. Participants who complete the evaluation online within 60 days of the conference will receive documentation of credit.
