1:35 PM - 2:35 PM
This session aims to address the prevalence, burden, and implications of excessive daytime sleepiness (EDS) due to hypersomnolence disorders among individuals with mental illness. Participants will learn to utilize available evidence-based tools to identify and assess EDS in patients with mental health conditions and determine when to refer them to a sleep specialist for optimal care. Additionally, attendees will assess and implement novel treatment options for EDS due to hypersomnolence disorders, using the latest recommendations and evidence-based management strategies. By bridging knowledge gaps and enhancing clinical practices, practitioners can optimize patient care and outcomes in this complex intersection of sleep disorders and mental health.
This session is supported by an educational grant from Jazz Pharmaceuticals, Inc.
