2027 Sessions

Beyond the Prescription: A Practical Introduction to Interventional Psychiatry

TMS, ketamine, and esketamine have expanded treatment options in psychiatric practice. Nurse practitioners need a practical understanding of these interventions to counsel patients, recognize appropriate referral opportunities, and coordinate care. This session introduces the mechanisms, evidence, and treatment experience associated with each approach. Faculty will discuss who to refer and when, with attention to treatment history, patient preferences, and clinical needs. The session will also examine access barriers, including insurance coverage, monitoring requirements, transportation, and workflow. A closing discussion will consider the practical demands of potential future psychedelic treatment delivery.
