Borderline Personality Disorder: A Comprehensive Update on Diagnosis, Recognition, and Treatment Strategies for Clinicians

This session will provide an update to clinicians on issues related to the prevalence, diagnosis, recognition, course, and treatment of borderline personality disorder. Additionally, this session will review research on the frequency of underdiagnosis of borderline personality disorder in clinical settings, clinically useful approaches to improve detection, assess the influence on a patient when diagnosed with borderline personality disorder, and provide guidance on communicating information to patients about longitudinal course and empirically supported treatment approaches.
