Dr. Alex M. Aningalan is a Board-Certified Wound and Ostomy Nurse Specialist with clinical and leadership expertise in multiple care settings. He has a Doctor of Nursing Practice Degree with a focus on Healthcare Systems Leadership. He is currently the Program Manager of Wound and Ostomy Care at a hospital in New York. He also serves as part-time faculty to DNP students. He has published multiple scholarly articles and is also a peer reviewer in several nursing journals. Dr. Aningalan is a Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) and a Board-Certified Nurse Executive, Advanced (NEA-BC). In addition to wound healing, he is passionate about Nursing Quality, Nursing Education, and Nursing Mentorship.

Shaping Success: Practical Applications of Convexity in Ostomy Management

This dynamic session explores the power of convexity in ostomy care and how the appropriate level of convex support can significantly improve pouch fit, reduce leakage, and protect peristomal skin. Participants will strengthen their assessment skills, learning to identify when and how to use convexity based on individual anatomy and clinical presentation. Through practical insights and real-world application, attendees will gain strategies to improve outcomes, enhance patient confidence, and elevate everyday ostomy management.
