Elizabeth Faust, MSN, MBA, ANP-BC, CWOCN-AP, known as Liz or Lizzie, is a recognized expert Nurse Practitioner specializing in wound, ostomy, and continence care for the last 17 years. Lizzie brings over 13 years of diverse clinical and leadership experience from Tower Health System in West Reading, PA, including roles as inpatient CWOCN, administrative lead for system-wide wound and ostomy practices, and department head of inpatient wound care in a 700+ bed Level 1 trauma center. Her innovative practice experience spans traditional inpatient care and outpatient wound centers operating within interdisciplinary physical therapy models.

Passionate about education, Liz specializes in Negative Pressure Wound Therapy (NPWT) and pressure injury prevention and management. She has lectured internationally, led bioskills labs nationwide, and actively contributes to advancing wound care knowledge through her consulting firm, Lizzie Wounds, LLC, which focuses on education, marketing, product development, legal case review, and research.

Liz also co-hosts “The Frank & Lizzie Show,” an educational platform dedicated to wound care clinicians, sharing insights and innovations to improve patient outcomes and clinical practice.

GLP-1 receptor agonists have changed the landscape of diabetes management—but what is their role in wound healing? This session will examine the emerging data linking GLP-1s to improved vascular function, reduced inflammation, and enhanced tissue repair. Discussion will include safety considerations, real-world evidence, and implications for multidisciplinary wound care.

Holland Hospital

Dr. Ruotsi is the Medical Director of Wound Healing and Hyperbaric Medicine at Holland Hospital in Holland, Michigan. In this role he is responsible for clinical oversight and patient care in the department. He is board certified in Wound Care by the American Board of Wound Medicine and Surgery, is certified as a Wound Specialist (CWS-P) by the American Board of Wound Management, and is board certified in Undersea and Hyperbaric Medicine by the American Board of Preventive Medicine. He is additionally certified as a Diving Medical Officer (DMO) by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). He has recently completed his second three-year term on the Board of Directors of the National Pressure Injury Advisory Panel (NPIAP) and was chair of its Education Committee as well as the Public Policy Committee. He is a Founding Diplomate and emeritus board member of the American Board of Wound Medicine and Surgery and is Chair of the Wound Care Summit for the annual Amputation Prevention (AMP) Symposium. He is a member of the CLI Global Wound Care Board, the Wound Healing Society (WHS), is a faculty member of the Wound Certification Prep Course, and lectures nationally as well as internationally on topics related to wound care and hyperbaric medicine. Dr. Ruotsi lives with his wife, Dot and 2 dogs in Holland, Michigan.
