The Official Meeting of Wounds
Renee Cordrey PT, PhD(c), MSPT, MPH, CWS is a physical therapist practicing in home health with Encompass Health. She found her wound care passion while a physical therapy student. Since then she has become board certified in wound care and focused her career in that specialty. She has worked in most care settings and in academia, currently on the faculty of The George Washington University in Washington, DC.
She has been very active within the wound care community throughout her career, having served four terms on the Board of Directors of the AAWC and in various roles with the American Physical Therapy Association, the Wound Ostomy and Continence Nurses Society, the American Academy of Wound Management, the Alliance of Wound Care Stakeholders, and Health Volunteers Overseas. She was honored with the Distinguished Member award from the AAWC, and is a Fellow of the AAWC. She also earned a Masters in Public Health, concentrating in health promotion and health education and is completing her dissertation for her PhD. She has over 115 presentations and publications on wound-related topics.
