Robyn Allen rercieved her Ph.D. and VMD from the University of Pennsylvania. Her graduate work in developmental biology focused on early embryonic patterning in the zebrarfish. Robyn is now a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Kentucky, working in the lab of Dr. Ashley Seifert. Her research fcuses on mechanisms of tissue size control and proliferative regulation during complex tissue regeneration in the spiny mouse. She leverages multispecies analyses in vitro and in vivo to understand cell and molecular differences between mesenchymal cells from highly regenerative mammals and poorly regenerative mammals. Her background in developmental biology and training in comparitive animal physiology inform her work which seeks to identify target mechanisms for use in regenerative medicine.
