Leonardo Profenna, MD, MPH, MBA is a retired USAF Colonel with 22 years of military service. In his military career, he worked as an Internal Medicine Specialist, Aerospace Medicine Specialist and eventually, as a fellowship-trained Undersea and Hyperbaric Medicine Specialist. After his military retirement, he worked for 10 years at Connally Memorial Medical Center as a Hyperbaric and Wound Care Specialist and also served as Chief Medical Officer. Simultaneously, he served for 4 years as the Internal Medicine Clerkship Director for the University of the Incarnate Word School of Osteopathic Medicine. In 2022, he became a contract physician for Brooke Army Medical Center Hyperbaric Medicine Clinic, where he cares for military active duty and retired members and families, civilian trauma emergencies, and teaches USAF and USA hyperbaric fellows. He is married to Virginia and has two children. He and his family love traveling , skiing, exercising and watching movies.
