Lawrence A. Lavery is a tenured Professor and Vice Chair of Research in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at the University of Texas Health Science Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas. Dr. Lavery’s clinical and research interests involve diabetic foot complications. Dr. Lavery was one of the founding members of the International Working Group on the Diabetic Foot. He has served on the prevention writing group and the diabetic foot infection writing group for the past 15 years. He is currently the Chair of the Foot Care Council of the American Diabetes Association. Dr. Lavery’s research group has published over 420 peer-reviewed papers and textbook chapters.
