Professor Hardman is Director of the £48M Wound Innovation Institute at the University of Hull, UK. He brings over 30 years’ experience in skin and wound research (h-index 50) and his work has been supported by funders including Research England, the Medical Research Council, EU, InnovateUK, National Institute for Health Research and industry. His group has contributed significant insight into the mechanisms that underpin wound repair, including discovery of the link between hair cycle and healing, demonstration that wound microbiome profile is linked to diabetic foot ulcer healing outcome and characterizing the role of estrogen signaling in wound repair. Former members of his team now hold Faculty positions across the UK, including at the Universities of Edinburgh, Bradford, Manchester and Hull.
