Christine Whelan
PhD
Associate Adjunct Faculty
Emory University

Known as the “Purpose Professor,” Dr. Christine B. Whelan's superpower is transforming purpose from an innocuous noun to a powerful verb, helping individuals ask what matters most, why it matters and how to make it happen in their personal and professional lives. With a doctorate from Oxford, and current faculty appointments at Emory University and University of Wisconsin - Madison, she's right in the middle of the action. Dr. Whelan has authored five books and a bestselling Audible Original. She's passionate about translating research into evidence-based strategies for daily thriving as a contributor to The Wall Street Journal, the TODAY Show and NPR’s Marketplace, among many other national outlets. And she does her best to practice what she preaches, embracing Seneca’s motto, “Not for school, but for life we learn.” Dr. Whelan lives in Madison with her husband, their five children, and their bernadoodle, juggling the chaos (most days) with a sense of humor… on purpose.
