Cara Lutzow is a Senior Medical Science Liaison (MSL) specializing in psychiatry at AbbVie, where she has contributed her expertise for the past four years. She holds a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) and is board-certified in both family and psychiatry, with degrees from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and the University of Alabama. Before transitioning to the MSL role, Cara spent six years working in outpatient psychiatry as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) in Raleigh, NC, focusing on mood disorders and ADHD in young adults and pediatric populations. Cara's passion for psychiatry and pharmacology is complemented by her love for teaching and learning, which she embraced by training new clinicians and teaching at the university level. Her move to the MSL role has allowed her to continue engaging in educational opportunities and discussions.

Outside of work, Cara enjoys exploring the outdoors, hiking in Western North Carolina, cheering for Alabama football, and traveling. She also maintains her clinical practice by working part-time in telehealth at Different MHP. Cara is passionate about psychiatry and values every chance to deepen her knowledge and is thrilled to be a part of Psych Elevate this year.
