Ilang M.Guiroy, MD is a Child, Adolescent, Adult, and Perinatal Psychiatrist who is currently completing an NIMH T32 Postdoctoral
Fellow in Child Psychiatry and Development at Stanford University School of Medicine and is a Harvey L. and Maud C.
Sorensen Foundation Postdoctoral Fellow. Dr. Guiroy graduated from Wellesley College with a double major in
Neuroscience and Art History. She obtained her M.D. from Albany Medical College and completed coursework for a
Masters of Science in Bioethics from the Alden March Bioethics Institute. Dr. Guiroy then completed her Adult Psychiatry
Residency training at LAC+USC (now Los Angeles General Hospital) and was Chief Resident of Education. She
completed her Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship at Stanford University School of Medicine, with an academic
research focus. Dr. Guiroy is a Diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry & Neurology in Adult Psychiatry. Dr.
Guiroy's research is on developing a novel, therapist lead, synchronous, live text message group therapy (TMGT)
intervention. Her research areas include digital mental health, social media psychiatry, as well as mental health
applications of AI. As a child and family psychiatrist, Dr. Guiroy focuses on maternal-infant mental health, young child, and
peripartum depression as a modifiable risk factor for childhood mental illnesses.
