William R. Miller, PhD (Clinical Psychology) is Emeritus Distinguished Professor of Psychology and Psychiatry at the University of New Mexico, where he served as Director of Clinical Training. He has published over 450 professional articles and chapters and 70 books including Effective Psychotherapists: Clinical Skills that Improve Client Outcomes (2021), Motivational Interviewing (4th edition, 2023), Eight Ways to Hope: Charting a Path through Uncertain Times (2024), Rethinking Drinking: Making the RIght Choice for You (2026), and The Person-centered Path: From Individual Growth to Collective Change (2027). The Institute for Scientific Information has listed him among the world’s most cited scientists.
