Dr. Cara Bishop, PhD., is the Vice President of Clinical Services for Banyan Treatment Centers. A distinguished clinical leader and published researcher, she holds a Doctorate in Psychology specializing in Forensic and Mental Health Applications. Her clinical expertise focuses on the intersection of substance use disorders, severe and persistent mental illness, and forensic psychology.

Dr. Bishop possesses a robust portfolio of advanced credentials, including certifications in Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counseling, Clinical Forensic Counseling, and as a Correctional Healthcare Professional (NCCHC). She is also a recognized Co-occurring Disorders Professional – Diplomat. Transitioning from the Clinical Director role at Banyan Delaware to National VP, Dr. Bishop now oversees the promotion of safe and healthy, client-centered, data-driven recovery environments on a large scale.

Dr Bishop is a proud member of the American Psychology Law Society and the American Psychological Association, the Golden Key and Psi Chi International Honor Societies, among others. She is committed to fostering clinical environments grounded in compassion, respect, and dignity. She is bridging the gap between academic research and practical, compassionate application in behavioral healthcare.
