Curt Lindsley has over 20 years of experience leading nonprofit organizations.

In 2004, Curt co-founded the Covington Domestic Violence Task Force in Covington, Washington (official sponsor of Purple Light Nights), and in 2011 he founded Go Purple USA to raise awareness about domestic violence and to engage communities to take a stand against domestic violence and intimate partner violence. Curt has been interviewed nationally by television stations, radio stations and podcasts to talk about this issue.

In 2019, Curt co-founded Best Life Recovery in Huntsville. Curt then helped lead the effort for the Alabama Alliance for Recovery Residences to become accredited by the National Alliance for Recovery Residences in July 2021 to certify recovery residence programs in Alabama based on the NARR Standards, becoming the only organization in Alabama with that authority. The NARR Standards are recognized by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) as an evidence-based best practices model for operating recovery housing programs.

Curt is Founder of Alabama Recovery Advocacy Day and Montgomery Recovers, and Co-Founder of End Addiction Sand Mountain.

Curt is a member of the Opioid Response Network; Alabama Reentry Taskforce Behavioral Health/Housing Working Group; Southeast Addiction Council Leadership Team; Alabama School of Alcohol and Drug Studies; and Treatment/Recovery and Law Enforcement Committees of the State Opioid Council.

Curt was the recipient of the first ever Ally of Recovery Award at the 10th Annual Certified Recovery Support Specialist Conference Awards (2025).

He proactively collaborates with stakeholders to address solutions to Alabama's opioid crisis.
