Iana Gueorguieva, MD began her professional career after earning a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from the University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business. She subsequently worked for several years at Procter & Gamble before pursuing a career in medicine. She earned her Doctor of Medicine degree from St. George’s University and completed her residency in Internal Medicine at Wayne State University/Detroit Medical Center – Sinai-Grace Hospital. She then completed a fellowship in Gastroenterology at Ascension Providence Hospital, where she served as Chief Clinic Fellow.
Dr. Gueorguieva is board-certified in both Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. She currently holds a faculty appointment as Clinical Assistant Professor at Michigan State University and serves as a Senior Staff Physician in the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at Henry Ford Health, with a subspecialty focus in Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD). Her passion and clinical interests center on IBD education and advocacy, with an emphasis on trainee development, patient education, and engaging the broader medical community through multidisciplinary collaboration.
