Natasha Klemm

Natasha K. Klemm, MD is an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at the University of Colorado, where she specializes in the care of patients with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). She completed her medical degree at the University of Manitoba, followed by Internal Medicine residency and Gastroenterology fellowship training at the University of British Columbia. Dr. Klemm subsequently completed an Advanced Inflammatory Bowel Disease Fellowship at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and Harvard Medical School, where she further developed expertise in complex IBD management, intestinal ultrasound and IBD-focused research

At the University of Colorado, Dr. Klemm established the institution’s Intestinal Ultrasound Program, which serves both as a clinical tool for real-time patient care and as a platform for research and innovation in IBD management. Her academic interests focus on improving outcomes for patients with IBD through clinical research, medical education, and multidisciplinary care.

Dr. Klemm’s scholarly work spans diverse areas of gastroenterology, including IBD therapeutics, pregnancy in IBD, gastrointestinal strictures, chronic abdominal pain, complementary and alternative medicine use, and endoscopic management of gastrointestinal disorders. She has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and presented her research nationally and internationally.

A dedicated educator and mentor, Dr. Klemm serves as Gastroenterology Elective Course Director at the University of Colorado and has developed multiple educational initiatives for trainees and faculty. She is actively involved in professional organizations including the AGA, ACG, ASGE and IBUS, reflecting her commitment to advancing the field of IBD and intestinal ultrasound.
