Kofi Clarke

Dr. Hudesman is Director of the Inflammatory Bowel Disease Center at NYU Langone Health. He is Professor of Medicine at the NYU School of Medicine.

Dr. Hudesman specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and in the provision of integrated, seamless, patient-centered care. His research is focused on the development of biomarkers and evaluation and optimization of new medical therapies for the treatment of both Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis.

Dr. Hudesman served on the Educational Affairs Committee of the American College of Gastroenterology, and the Professional Membership Committee of the Crohn’s Colitis Foundation, and is currently on the Quality Committee of the American Gastroenterological Association.

Gil Y. Melmed, MD, MS, is the Clinical Director of the Inflammatory Bowel Disease Program and Associate Director of the Karsh Division of Digestive and Liver Diseases at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, California. He earned his medical degree from Albert Einstein College of Medicine in the Bronx, New York, and master of science in clinical research from UCLA School of Medicine, Los Angeles. Dr Melmed completed his gastroenterology fellowship at the University of California, Los Angeles.
He has authored or coauthored more than 250 articles in peer-reviewed journals and several book chapters. Dr Melmed has served as Associate Editor of the American Journal of Gastroenterology, an ad hoc reviewer for several journals, and clinical research editor for Inflammatory Bowel Disease. His research interests include clinical outcomes and quality of care in IBD. He has given invited lectures and presentations nationally and internationally on several clinical topics in inflammatory bowel disease, including quality of care and clinical outcomes. He is a committee member of several professional organizations, including the American College of Gastroenterology and the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation, where he serves as co-chair of the IBD Quality of Care committee. He has led or participated in the development of quality measures for IBD with the American Gastroenterology Association, the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation, and the Canadian Crohn’s and Colitis organizations.

Lisa Malter, MD, FACG, is a Professor of Medicine at the NYU School of Medicine, the Director of Education for the NYU IBD Center and Director of the Inflammatory Bowel Disease Clinic at the Bellevue Hospital Center in New York City. Board-certified in Gastroenterology, Dr. Malter’s patient practice is focused primarily on inflammatory bowel disease, including Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis, and she has pioneered access to care for the underserved patient population at Bellevue. Dr. Malter’s academic interests include the study of inflammatory bowel disease, patient safety, and fellowship education. Dr. Malter teaches at the NYU Grossman School of Medicine and has published in Inflammatory Bowel Diseases,  The American Journal of Gastroenterology and CC360. She is a member of ACG, AGA, and the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation. She serves as the Editor of the ACG Universe, is a member of the ACG Training Committee, the ACG Education Task Force, and is a faculty advisor for the Crohn's &Colitis Foundation's Greater New York Fellows’ Education Committee. She created and created and directs IBD 101, a first year fellows course on IBD, in collaboration with NYU and the ACG.  Dr. Malter received her medical degree from Rosalind Franklin University/Chicago Medical School, completed her internal medicine internship and residency at The Mount Sinai Hospital in New York, and went on to complete a Gastroenterology fellowship at NYU Langone Medical Center.

Dr Nuru Noor is a Clinical Lecturer in Gastroenterology based at the University of Cambridge in the UK. He also works as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Medical Research Council Clinical Trials Unit - the largest academic clinical trials unit in Europe. He has a particular interest in novel clinical trial designs, having completed his PhD on this topic. He is keen to bring novel methodological approaches to the field of Gastroenterology, and in particular to IBD - which is his main area of clinical interest and expertise.

She currently serves as the Clinical Practice Chair for the Division of Gastroenterology & Hepatology, Associate Chair for Digital Transformation and Practice Integration for the Department of Medicine and Medical Director for Plummer Chart Ambulatory Communication Solutions team. She is also the Director of the IBD Intestinal Ultrasound Program at Mayo Clinic Florida. She has been recognized as a fellow of the American College of Gastroenterology (ACG), American Gastroenterological Association (AGA), and Crohn's and Colitis Foundation. She is a former member of the ACG Board of Governors for the state of Michigan and the ACG Women in Gastroenterology Committee. She is active in the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation and previous Co-Chair for the Women in IBD Task Force and prior member of the Government and Industry Affairs Committee for the National Scientific Advisory Committee. Dr. Kinnucan is the co-founder of the Michigan GI Society in 2020 and, most recently, co-founded the Florida Women in GI (2022) and Gastro Digital Health (2024) She serves as Associate Editor for the Crohn’s and Colitis 360 Journal. She is actively involved with research looking at the impact of cannabis in IBD and received a 2024 Mayo Clinic STARDOM award to evaluate the use of virtual reality on the impact of pain in patients with abdominal pain and Crohn’s disease.

Professor Remo Panaccione is a Professor of Medicine and the Director of the Inflammatory Bowel Disease Unit at the University of Calgary, Canada. He serves as the Dean of MD Admissions and Director of the IBD Fellowship Program. He also holds the Crohn’s Colitis Canada Endowed Research Chair in Inflammatory Bowel Disease.

He is the 2020 Crohn's Colitis Canada Outstanding Physician of the Year and received the 2024 Crohn’s Colitis Canada Research Leadership Award for his contributions to the field. Since 2020 he has been a Clarivate Research Scholar for being cited in the top one percent of researchers in the world. He has co-authored over 500 manuscripts, 20 book chapters and 825 abstracts, including publications in journals such as the New England Journal of Medicine, The Lancet, JAMA, Nature, and Annals of Internal Medicine.

Prof. Panaccione’s main research interest is the design and implementation of clinical trials. He has been the principal investigator on several studies evaluating the efficacy and safety of new therapeutic agents in subjects with IBD.

Katherine Falloon, MD, is a staff gastroenterologist at the Digestive Disease and Surgery Institute at the Cleveland Clinic and an assistant professor of medicine at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine. She is also the co-director of the intestinal ultrasound program at the Cleveland Clinic. Her clinical focus is in caring for patients in inflammatory bowel disease and her research interest is in extra-intestinal manifestations of inflammatory bowel disease. She is currently leading the Cohort for Healing Skin, Eye, and Extra-Intestinal Manifestations (CHASE-EIM), a multi-disciplinary research consortia related to extra-intestinal manifestations of inflammatory bowel disease. She has received funding from the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation, Pfizer, and the Digestive Disease and Surgery Institute's Chief Innovation and Research Award.

His interests include Interventional IBD with a focus on stricturotomy, addressing health care inequity, intimacy and sex in IBD, and improving medical education for providers of all levels. He received his medical degree from Wayne Statue University, and went on to complete a fellowship in gastroenterology at Providence Hospital in Michigan. He previously served as the Associate Program Director of the Henry Ford Gastroenterology and Hepatology fellowship, and continues to be involved in fellow education of IBD across the state of Michigan. He has been recognized for his teaching efforts, high quality care of IBD patients and contributions to patient education. He has presented at ESCCO, AIBD and DDW.
