Dr. Roni Aoun is a gastroenterologist and Assistant Professor of Medicine at Peconic Bay Medical Center–Northwell Health, where he serves as the hospital's sole IBD specialist. In this role, he provides advanced subspecialty care to a large and diverse patient population across Eastern Long Island, an area historically underserved in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) care.
Dr. Aoun completed his IBD fellowship at the McGaw Center of Northwestern University, where he trained in the management of complex Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis.
At Peconic Bay Medical Center, Dr. Aoun has led efforts to build and grow a comprehensive IBD program, expanding regional access to subspecialty care. He is currently leading the development of a dedicated IBD infusion center to improve treatment accessibility and streamline biologic therapy delivery for patients.
In recognition of his leadership in IBD care and community engagement, Dr. Aoun was named the 2025 Medical Honoree for the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation's Long Island Take Steps campaign.
