Dr. Kaiz Asif is the regional medical director and consultant in Neuroendovascular Surgery and Stroke at Ascension, IL. Committed to developing and maintaining systems of care for rapid and efficient hyperacute stroke treatment. As Chair of the Regional Stroke Subadvisory stroke committee for IL region VII, leading efforts for regional EMS triage pathways Deeply passionate about individualized risk factor modification and community education and awareness about stroke prevention. He is the local PI for multiple national/international RCTs and PI for local investigator initiated studies. He is also Involved with Neurosurgery resident/fellow training at the university of Illinois-Chicago.

Brijesh P Mehta, M.D., is a neurointerventional surgeon and Medical Director of Comprehensive Stroke and Neurointerventional Surgery Programs at the Memorial Neuroscience Institute. He earned his medical degree from the University of North Carolina and completed Harvard Medical School residency and fellowship training programs in Neurology, Stroke/Neurocritical Care, and Endovascular Neurosurgery at the Massachusetts General Hospital and Brigham & Women’s Hospital in Boston. Dr Mehta’s passion and research interests are in building high efficiency acute stroke systems of care with EMS integration and in-hospital process improvement. He is a founding member of the tri-county South Florida Stroke Coalition to help optimize stroke care across the region.
